"Some days I wash the floors in milk, some days in orange juice." Tonight I've washed it in cider.

It was a paraphrase from my grandmother, who used to say something like, "With three children one must make a virtue of necessity. I wash my floors most every day. Sometimes I wash them in milk, sometimes in orange juice." I think of that whenever I really spill something. I'd literally just dropped my can of cider and most of it went foaming all over the floor.

I have to wonder why a drink which is almost clear can penetrate the wood and darken it so much... days later and I can still clearly see where the cider was.

Gah, I know, right? I've had that experience with some spills too. Hope it'll fade with time.
